Richard Timmis has practised as a solicitor for over forty years. Many years ago he specialised into Immigration and Nationality Law becoming a founder member of the Law Society’s Immigration Law Panel.
His career helped many hundreds of clients finding their way through legal complexities to establish their future in the UK.
Richard set out to invite more complex and difficult cases that needed understanding and articulation.
Many people - spouses, partners, skilled workers, British Overseas Citizens - had their histories explained to the Home Office or the Tribunal to positive effect. Many more relied on their human rights, requiring finely balanced presentation.
This wide range of experience is combined with many years in the profession as a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners' Association. It puts Richard in a sound position to recommend enquirers to the right professional hands, even now having stopped practising as a solicitor himself.
He maintains the interests that he acquired in earlier life through living in the Middle East and Africa, and familiarity with the Arabic language. He has also maintained his links with the French legal profession through lectures on UK Immigration Law at the Barreaux de Paris.
